Nursery

And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
Luke 18:15-17

As the Nursery Team, we aim to provide a loving, safe environment for infants and toddlers while parents attend Bible Fellowship and Worship Services. We understand that this is one of the most important positions in our church. Our goal and privilege is to begin loving these children with the love of Jesus from the beginning stages of their lives.

REQUIRED:
  • Must be a member of North Highland Baptist Church
  • All student helpers must be at least 14 years old
  • Anyone who works with minors (including a student helper) is required to have a background check run by North Highland. A clean background check must be on file before working with children in any capacity. Minors must have signed parent permission before running a background check.
  • Regular background checks will be completed as required by the church

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Arrive early before each service to receive each child (Be Ready)
  • Be sure that there is enough help to meet the specific needs of infants and toddlers (Be Watchful)
  • Teach simple Bible truths about God’s creation and love
  • Teach these children to love and share with the other children
  • Let parents know that it is always a joy and privilege to take care of their child while they have an opportunity to worship the Lord

MY TURN IN THE NURSERY...
Last Sunday was my turn in the Nursery to work.
My heart wasn’t in it, and my feelings were hurt.
A child from its mother did not want to part,
And cried a lot with its broken heart.

I prayed that soon, the hour would end.
That I could relax, it feels good to be free
I said once a month was too much for me.
That very next Sunday, as I sat in the pew,
The sermon was good, but the visitors were few.
Then down came a woman, and her soul was saved,
Yes, she was the mother of the crying babe.

Then it dawned on me that I had been a part
Of the one being saved, giving to God her heart.
From that day on, I would never dread,
Working in the nursery while souls were being fed
