Recognizing Our Gifts
Ephesians 4:7-8
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
Thoughts:
Christ's victory over death changed everything. Where we deserved judgment, He gave gifts. Where we should bring offerings, He descended to the lowest depths to rescue captives and ascended to distribute grace. This is the up-downward kingdom, the Victor shares His spoils with the defeated. Today, reflect on this stunning reality: every spiritual gift you possess is evidence of Christ's generosity, not your goodness or merit. You didn't earn your calling; you received it from nail-scarred hands. The same Jesus who conquered death and the grave now equips you for purpose. What gift has He placed in your hands? Recognize it as His grace measured specifically for your capacity. Don't compare your portion with others but be a steward of what you've been given.
Prayer:
Spend time in prayer asking God to reveal the spiritual gifts He has given you. Pray for wisdom to understand how to use these gifts effectively for the edification of the church and to honor Him in all that you do.
