Letting Go of Weariness

Luke 5:1-3
1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, 2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. 3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Thoughts:
In Luke 5, we see Jesus asking Peter to push out from shore despite his exhaustion from a night of fruitless fishing. This mirrors our own lives, where God often calls us to step out in faith when we feel most weary. Jesus invites us in Matthew 11 to come to Him for rest. Today, reflect on areas of your life where you feel worn out. How might God be calling you to trust Him in these areas? Remember, true rest comes not from absence of work, but from aligning our efforts with God's purposes.

Prayer:
Pray for the strength to let go of your weariness and embrace the refreshing presence of Christ.
