Mercy Sent the Prophet Again
Jonah 3:1
And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
Thought
The words “the second time” reveal the patience of God. Jonah had failed, but God was not finished with him. The Lord corrected him, rescued him, and recommissioned him. This does not excuse Jonah’s sin, but it magnifies God’s mercy. Salvation is of the LORD, and so is restoration for the servant who has failed.
God still uses imperfect people to carry His perfect message. You may feel disqualified because of past failure, fear, or disobedience, but the mercy of God can restore your steps. If the Lord has shown you grace, then rise and obey Him today. Someone needs to hear that judgment is real, mercy is available, and Salvation is of the LORD.
Prayer
Father, thank You for being patient with me when I fail. Thank You for calling me back to obedience and giving me opportunities to serve You. Help me carry Your message faithfully and humbly. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
