Living as God's Children

Romans 12:1-2
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 John 3:1-3
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Thoughts:
As we conclude this week’s devotional, let’s reflect on how our adoption and acceptance in Christ can transform our lives. Romans 12 urges us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. This is our "reasonable service" in light of all God has done for us.

In 1 John, John is blown away by the love the Father has shown us, calling us His precious children. It then points to the hope of becoming like Christ when we see Him. This process of transformation begins now, as we renew our minds and align our lives with God's will.

Reflect on areas of your life that might need realignment with your identity as God's child. Have you noticed any habits, attitudes, or relationships that don’t quite align with your new life? How can you actively express gratitude for your adoption today?

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the blessing of being Your child. Help me to live in a way that honors You and reflects Your character. Transform me daily to be more like Christ.
