Embracing Our Role in the Body
Ephesians 4:16
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Thoughts:
Perhaps you don't know your spiritual gift because you've given God no capacity to reveal it. Your life is too full; full of your plans, your ambitions, your desires, leaving no room for His purpose. God distributes grace "according to the measure" of our capacity to receive it. Are your hands so tightly clenched around earthly pursuits that you cannot receive heavenly gifts? The framework of the church requires your participation, but participation demands surrender. Today, make room. Present your body as a living sacrifice. Count the cost of discipleship and choose Christ above all. Stop being conformed to this world's patterns and be transformed by renewing your mind. ONLY THEN will you discover God's good, acceptable, and perfect will, including the specific gift and calling He's measured out for you. Open your heart. Receive His grace. Fulfill your purpose.
Prayer:
Spend time in prayer seeking God's direction for your specific role in the church. Ask for His help to operate effectively within the body and to foster love and support among believers, ensuring that the church thrives as intended.
