Show Me Your Way That I May Know You

Exodus 33:13-14
Now therefore I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight, and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Thought:
Moses did not merely ask for instructions. He asked for revelation. Show me now Thy way that I may know Thee. He knew that God’s ways are windows into His heart. The people saw the acts of God, the miracles, and the answers, but Moses longed to understand the character, motives, and purposes of the Lord Himself. For Moses, guidance was valuable only because it drew him into deeper knowledge of the One who guided.

We often come to God primarily for direction. What job should I take? What decision should I make? How will this need be met? These are important questions, but there is a greater request we can bring. Lord, through this decision, through this season, through this trial, let me know You more. When we seek the Lord Himself above the path, He promises what He promised Moses My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. Wherever you are today, ask God to use your circumstances not just to show you what to do but to show you more of who He is.

Prayer:
Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus. I admit that many times, I have sought Your will more than I have sought Your heart. Today, I ask You to show me Your way so that I may know You more deeply. In every choice, trial, and blessing, let me see more clearly Your wisdom, mercy, and holiness. I welcome Your presence into my journey, and I receive the rest that comes from trusting that You go with me. Shape my desires until knowing You becomes my greatest aim. I ask this through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.
