Stewards of the Grace We Have Received

1 Peter 4:10
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Thought:
Peter teaches that every believer has received a gift from God. This means no one in the body of Christ is unnecessary or overlooked. Your abilities, opportunities, and personality are not accidents. They are expressions of God’s grace that has been entrusted to you for a purpose. Some gifts are visible and public. Others are quiet and often unnoticed except by the few who receive their blessing. Whether your gift is encouragement, teaching, serving, giving, praying, or offering wise counsel, it is given so that others may be strengthened in Christ.

We are called stewards of the manifold grace of God. A steward does not own the resources, he simply manages them. Everything we have belongs to God, and we will give an account for how we used it. The enemy of faithful stewardship is comparison. When we fix our eyes on the gifts of others, we either become proud or discouraged. Instead, God invites us to be faithful right where we are, with what we have. Today, ask God to show you how His grace has been placed in your life. Then look for at least one way to let that grace flow outward in service to another person.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gifts and opportunities You have placed in my life. Help me to see myself as a steward of Your grace, not the owner of my abilities or resources. Deliver me from comparison and pride, and make me faithful with what You have given me. Show me today how I can serve someone in a way that reflects Your love. In the name of Jesus, amen.
